Chuck Jones

In a career spanning over 60 years, Chuck Jones' work brought joyful laughter to three generations that grew up with his cartoons. In more than 300 animated films, the cartoon characters—Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner, Marvin Martian, Pepé le Pew, and a memorable menagerie of others—have, like their creator, become indelible icons of American culture. As a director, artist Chuck Jones breathed life into his creations and created a life full of ideas. He read voraciously, expressing his knowledge and imagination with wit. His art makes us laugh and makes us think. His creative spirit inspires us.

The Chuck Jones Center for Creativity is dedicated to fostering and encouraging creativity, especially in young people, using the drawings, films, and writings of legendary animation director, Chuck Jones, as inspiration. It encourages the expression of artistic creativity and promotes an environment where that spirit can flourish. Jones' art and ideas continue to influence contemporary artists, filmmakers, and writers through the vast resource of his work accessible through the Center for Creativity’s online archive.
